The palace of King Zog I of Albania stands on a wooded hill overlooking Tirana. Completed in 1939 and never inhabited. He and his family seem to have fled the country yesterday so much everything in this place did not change. Today still very few Albanians have been able to visit it. Tami Notsani had the privilege of photographing in 2016 what is now called "The Palace of the Brigades". Beige satin couch with graceful curves, unbelievable octopus table, plush marble bathtub, everything breathes the lost charm of a voluptuous life where everything is luxury and refinement. An old-fashioned refinement and a little faded certainly, but she knows how to touch us by rendering these objects alone in the frame poignant in their forced solitude.
